You’re going home
As you may know from my tweets this week, I am not ashamed of my love of 70’s schmaltz. I learned to love music in the 70’s and you never forget your first love.
Here is the thing about this song. I still feel sad for the person in it to this day. It’s so filled with failure at life, even after trying and hoping and dreaming. And if you listen to this song, that person is you.

Apparently, Gerry Rafferty drank his life away, but he gave the world this song, so I think that’s success. Oh, and Stuck in the Middle With You, which is great and a little less of a downer (especially when Susanna Hoffs and Matthew Sweet covered it)
RIP.
