How can people not like this dress? I adored it. I want one for myself, maybe two. KP agrees with me and I thought I would share her plan with you.

Becca and I have having ones made for ourselves.

Then we are going to the American Girl store and buying dolls with the same dress.

Then we are going to buy huge cupcakes.

Then we are going to walk around NYC in our Obama dresses rocking our dolls and flaunting our cupcakes.

I can’t really see any flaw in this.

I love the dress. I recognize that it would look awful on me because I have no waist, but I do love it her, and any others that aren’t shaped like me.

    Plus cupcakes? Please. Flawless plan.

So, we still need to pick a date. Let’s do it before it gets too cold and our frosting gets hard.

  3. Can I have a cupcake even if I think the dress is fugly?

  4. Melanie says:

Yeah, I admit, when she walked out, the first words out of my mouth were “WTF is she wearing?” Because, no. Maybe it would be better without the sweater? Or without that obi-like satin piece across her stomach? I don’t know.

But I dig your plan. You can’t go wrong with giant cupcakes.

  5. Becca says:

Jane, when I buy the dress, I’m pretty sure I will magically transform into Michelle Obama. Or me with Michelle Obama’s figure. And grace. And, you know, everything.

KP, don’t worry. It’s always cupcake season.

Incog, you can have KP’s. I’m sure she would share.

Melanie, I do love the high-waisted X. But I think I could so without the over-sweater thing.

Yes, I know all the designer lingo.

    I want cupcakes.

  7. KP says:

    I always share my cupcakes.

  8. Kriscalifornia says:

I don’t love the dress…but, don’t hate it. I love that she took a fashion risk. She is awesome. He is awesome!

  9. Alex says:

Wow, this is even harder for me than talking about music. Will there be a tennis post soon?

  10. Maureen says:

Did Guiliani put an end to people flaunting their cupcakes on the streets on Manhattan?

  11. Girlnextdoortn says:

Yeah, I was taken aback when I saw the dress. Not a fan. Oh well, she’ll always be gorgeous.

  12. KP says:

My dear Alex, how do you not have strong feelings about cupcakes?

  13. Irishcardinal says:

KP’s plan is perfect. Can I come too? I especially want the American Girl Doll with the matching dress. The cupcakes, it goes without saying. When I first saw the dress, I thought it was very unusual, but not ugly. It’s in my favorte colors–better without the cardigan, maybe.

  14. Becca says:

Note to self: when desiring comments, post about cupcakes.

  15. KP says:

Update: I had a Nutella filled cupcake this past weekend. I was not wearing the Obama dress, but I did look pretty hot.
