loveDear J-Ball,

So it’s come to this, I have forgotten our anniversary. In the first year of our relationship, I planned it for weeks, did all kinds of research, felt emotions and sentiment. This year, I happened to notice a week after the fact and come empty-handed.

Please don’t think I don’t love you as much as the first day we were together. It’s just… you know how it is. I got used to having you around and maybe I have begun take you for granted. That novel excitement has kind of vanished. But don’t take that as arising from a lack of feeling. Rather, you are so necessary to me that you’re just a part of my life and so, are appreciated without words or gestures. Always know that without you I’d be one of those people talking to myself on the subway or boring my friends with daily minutiae. Or, you know, more so.

Anyway, allow me to make it up to you later this week. Or next week. Or sometime. It will be as fun a post as last year’s Blogoversary, I swear.

xoxo
Becca

Happy Anniversary to two of favorites!

I love you both immensely, and while I have not been posting as much as I used to, please know that you both are forever in my heart.

And those cupcakes we shared are possibly still on my hips.

    Hugs and kisses, KP

    I’ve done worse, Becca.

I scheduled movers for our eighth wedding anniversary. I made all the arrangements with the moving company, and said to the woman, “Let me just call my wife at work to make sure this date is OK with her, and I’ll get back to you.”

So I called Celia at the office and asked, “I’m almost done with the movers. How does [date] sound to you?” She said it was fine. I called the movers back and put us on their calendar. As I was hanging up, I said to myself, “Uh oh.” I called Celia back and said, “About the movers: [date], does that sound familiar?” She said, “It does. Is it our anniversary?”

We declared the honeymoon officially over.

Some years later, Celia declared 19 to be the “Yeah, I didn’t get you anything, either” Anniversary.

    We’re romantic like that.

you mentioned on your first blogoversary post that you take a lot of pride in your theme. I really like it too, but I have a bit of a problem with it when I try to view it on my iPhone. It’s mostly black so I can’t see the words. The problem probably lies with my phone, but just in case you can fix it on your end, I’m mentioning it.

It’s like, I can see the first inch or two of white snaking down along the left side, but then it turns to black for the whole right side of the screen.

I do. I miss Anonymous, she never comments anymore.

Alex, that is the saddest story I have ever heard. Mostly because I hate moving, though.

kb, thank you and and I still do! I never really get tired of it and since I look at this site more than all of you combined, I hope you aren’t either.

But actually, there is an entirely different theme set up for mobile phones, as this one looks lovely on full screens but doesn’t work well with portables. I see it when I surf to this address from my Blackberry and I know it appears for Treos as well. It is supposed to detect the iPhone, I don’t know why it’s not working?

The other theme is stark white with clear black text, blue links, and just the posts and pages, not the other sidebar stuff. The first three posts appear as excerpts and you can click to read the full post.

Happy Anniversary! It’s ok, we’ll just extend the celebration into a happy anniversary week…or month. Whatever works!

And, I have two additional things to share. First, I received my Hamantaschen and they are wonderful. I’m so glad I was able to particpate in your donation bake sale.

Second, I won a dinner for two to a really nice restaurant from a local radio station for being able to name, among other things, the lead singer of Crowded House! Magic J Ball and the wealth of information it contains was there when I needed it! You’re welcome to come to the dinner with me 🙂

  6. Merdie says:

Happy anniversary! Has it all ready been a year?

p.s.I’m watching that movie right now.

  7. Becca says:

Merrick, yes, it’s going to be a monthlong party! Sadly, the month ends tomorrow so I’d better get cracking.

Oh, I’m so glad and thank you so much for donating. Really? Really? Oh YaY! I’m so thrilled that the knowledge of who Neil Finn is helped you in this practical way!

Merdie, I know. And yet, we remained the same age, isn’t that amazing? And yes, I love that movie. Is there any better image of, “I love you, come back to me?”

  8. KP says:

Did you ever see the Family Guy where Peter holds up Gabriel Byrne (Peter gets him confused with Peter Gabriel) over his head and makes him sing “In You Eyes” to Lois outside her house?

Yeah, I know, I know too many FG references.

  9. Becca says:

    No.

    Yes.

    😛

  10. KP says:

Well, You Tube seems to have deleted all of their Family Guy clips so you will just have to watch them every day until you see it.

    So there.
