iPod song of the week – Bjork
Important News! Napster has inexplicably decided to change their address to “free.napster.com.” I mean, once they were illegally free, then legally free, and as far as I know it’s unchanged, so was this reminder so very necessary? But it seems like my links still work so I’m not going to get pissed off. Yet.
So recently, I was e-mailing with Kay and we exchanged fun pictures of Bjork as demonstrations of perfect looks to wear to a book release party. There are plenty of these pictures out there, God knows, but especially now when she’s about to release another strange album. I mean strange in a good way, as I usually do. The stranger her albums get, the more normal her old stuff seems. Or maybe I’m just so used to it by now.
Here’s a song I’ve been used to for a good long time but it still captivates me. It’s melodic but the percussion is the thing that sticks in your head. And it’s about how strange and illogical we humans are. It’s funny because it’s true! It had a sublime video as well but I’ll let you search for it yourself. Because I’m lazy! Speaking of which, I used to listen to this song at the gym. I stopped mostly because I no longer go to the gym.
Maybe it’s political commentary. Like “Free Tibet.”
Great song. I’ve loved Bjork since the old days when I rocked out to her weirdness, back in ’95, or so.
Love love LOVE the video for this one. The big moth used to freak me out, but the big teddy bear made up for it.
Great choice Bec.
I never thought of that, Sarpon, but you could be right. I still have no desire to join that movement.
Having nothing to do with your comment, Lydia, I happened to be on your site while you were posting this. Freaky!
I loved that bear too, KP.
I have to share my Bjork fan buddy’s site with you:
