The Cars' biggest hits were in 1984 when your young girl would have been 11. That's hardly her Mom's music! And the reason it's hard to place me is that I was a rock music fan at the age of three (really! I still can't tell how old you are. The reason I am bringing up age, is because The Cars is the first band that dated me. Not "dated me" as in we went out to dinner and a movie (which would imply that I've dated a lot of bands since then)... What I mean is this: in approximately 1989, I had a young girl of perhaps sixteen in my house, and I was trying to entertain her. I was trying to think, of all my CDs, which one I might play which would make me seem cool to this young girl. "How about The Cars?" I asked her. "Sure," she replied. "My mom listens to them."
